Why That Call Looked So Bad (and Probably Wasn’t)

It turns out there's quite a bit of research in cognitive psychology to support a phenomenon that has a few names—partisan perception, ingroup bias, hostile attribution bias, naïve realism, self-serving bias, and motivated reasoning are all part of this broader family.
