The Scorpion League is formatted in 3v3 for ages 5-7 and 5v5 for ages 8-10. 

 

The league is developmentally structured to encourage and build self-confidence in the player and the team. It focuses on promoting small-sided games, individual player development, group cohesion, creativity and the enjoyment of the game is not on winning games but rather on the way it’s played. We believe it is important for our parents, coaches, and players to embrace this philosophy as it is an important foundation of DCXI.

 

The first 15 minutes of every game is structured as a combined technical warmup, where a professional coach leads all the players in working on a facet of the game. 

 

The league runs in the Spring, Fall and Winter. 

 

Teams are made up of majority DCXI players and some external players/teams.

You may register as a free agent, this will place you on a team of other free agents.

Season Breakdown

  • Appropriate for 5-6 year olds

  • 7 weeks of play

  • Takoma Recreation Center (3rd St. & Sheridan St.)

  • $75.00 registration individual/free agent,

  • $375 team registration (7 player roster)

 

Sessions breakdown

  • 45 Minute sessions 

  • 15 min - skills warmup with professional coach

  • 2 x 20 min - game halves managed by manager

  • 5 min - half time
