MLK CUP

Welcome to the MLK CUP 

The MLK Cup is a 5v5 futsal tournament featuring teams of 4 players and a goalkeeper. It takes place over the Martin Luther King holiday weekend at state-of-the-art facilities across the DMV, it has previously been held at Turkey Thicket, Edgewood and North Michigan Recreation Center locations. Participants are required to wear tennis shoes or indoor shoes on the court; cleats are not allowed as this is a futsal tournament.

COMMUNITY PLAY

The tournament consists of 3 games, each lasting 40 minutes. The top 2 teams will advance to the finals, which will take place on the last day of the tournament (usually Sunday). The finalists will receive recognition for their achievements. 

The MLK Cup is brought to you by DC Eleven Football Club in collaboration with DC Department of Parks and Recreation. It serves as a friendly yet competitive atmosphere as players return from holidays and prepare for winter practices and leagues. It brings the community together in facilitating a warm and peaceful environment for athletes and their families to compete with neighbors and get acquainted with one another.

• 2026 Dates: January 19, 2026 (Monday only)

• Format 5v5, 4 players and a goalkeeper.  

• Locations: Silver Spring, MD.

• Age groups:

• U08,

• U10,

• U12,

• U14,

• High School 

• Kickoff Times: (Please refer to schedule) 

• Cost per team: $450 (U8 - U12), $550 (U13 and above)

Game Play 

• 3 games 

• 35 mins straight (2026 Update)

• One center ref 

• 1st place, 2nd place based on table (2026 Update) 

• Finalists will be recognized and awarded.
