RULES

THE PLAYERS
PLAYER REGISTRATION: All players must be submitted on the team’s roster.
NUMBER OF PLAYERS: The maximum number of players on a team is
8 (U6): 3 or 4 field players at a time, no keepers.
10 max for U8 and above: four field players, one keeper and five substitutes. Only five players are on the field at a time. The minimum number of players a team can field is four.
To enlist more players in special circumstances you must have express permission from the league directors. You may not use any player from another team without permission from league directors.
PLAYER SUBSTITUTIONS: Substitutions may be made at any dead-ball situation, regardless of possession. Teams must get the referee’s permission before making the substitution and players are to enter and exit at midfield.
PLAYER EQUIPMENT: All players must wear shin guards. Any player without shin guards will not be allowed to play.
PLAYER “KITS”: All players must wear jerseys/shirts during play. In most cases, DCXI will provide Jersey shirts for all teams.
Fair Play: All players are expected to conduct themselves in a safe manner. The referee has the sole discretion to give up to 2 minute timeouts.
THE FIELD OF PLAY
FIELD DIMENSIONS: See game format
PENALTY BOX: May or may not be indicated based on field/game format.
BALL SIZE: See game format
GOAL SCORING: A goal may be scored from anywhere on the field. The ball changes possession after a goal is scored, and is restarted from midfield.
RESTARTS: All restarts are indirect kicks (including the kickoff to start each half). This does not include penalty kicks, which are direct.
KICKOFF: All kickoffs are indirect kicks taken from midfield, and may be taken in any direction.
THREE (3) YARD RULE: In all dead ball situations, restarts, including game start and halftime start, defending players must stand at least three (3) yards away from the ball. If the defensive player’s goal area is closer than three (3) yards, the ball shall be placed three (3) yards from the goal area.

GOAL KICKS: May be taken from anywhere inside the goalie box. Goal kicks are indirect.
INDIRECT KICKS: All kicks will be indirect aside from corners and penalties.
PENALTY KICKS: A penalty kick will be taken from a marked penalty spot. or the indicated spot by the referee.
THE LEAGUE
FORMAT: 10 – 15 minutes will consist of a clinical warm-up with Jouons Staff members in preparation for competition (Teams are encouraged to be on time, so not to miss out on this). 40 – 45 minutes will be used to compete; broken up into two halves of 20 – 25 minutes, with a 2 minute half-time period. This format may differ from age-group to age-group.
GAME DURATION: See game format. Games tied after regulation play shall end in a tie. The match length may be shortened due to team tardies, and related obstacles.
SCORING: Scores will be posted on Monday’s following weekend play. U6 age group scores will neither be posted nor recorded. This may differ based on season, division format.
NO-Shows: If a team is overly tardy (10 minutes) or does not show, the game will proceed as a forfeit and an automatic 3 - 0 to the opposing team..
Sideline Ethics: Parents, coaches, and players alike are encouraged to support the development nature of this league. We wish for this to be an environment promoting growth and not the mere short-term gain of winning.
FAIR PLAY: Players, coaches, and spectators are expected to act in the nature of “Fair Play” at all times.
FIFA RULES APPLY TO ANY RULES NOT ADDRESSED IN THIS DOCUMENT. SITUATIONS OR OCCURRENCES THAT THESE RULES DO NOT ADDRESS SHALL BE LEFT TO THE SOLE DISCRETION OF THE LEAGUE.
